Ensure that your Elastic implementation is running optimally with a search implementation and architecture audit.
The implementation and architecture audit is designed to align the customer’s Elasticsearch clusters to best practice in terms of how the solution was designed, implemented and architected. The audit includes the following:
The purpose of this session is for our Elastic Consultants to gather all relevant details of the Elastic environment. Topics discussed during an audit session typically include:
- Use case description
- Current Elastic Stack deployment and basic architecture
- Data source description
- Data volumes
- Retention periods
- Expected read/query throughput
- Required read/query latency
- Required Indexing latency
- Index backup / archival
- Disaster Recovery
- Hardware / OS
- Pre-production environments
- Monitoring Environments
- Index templates/mappings
- RAM and heap sizes
- Logstash filters
It is a requirement that the customer runs the Elastic Support Diagnostics Utility on their clusters prior to the review session. The support diagnostic utility is a Java executable that will interrogate the node on the host it is running on to obtain data and statistics on the running cluster. It will execute a series of REST API calls to the running cluster, run a number of OS related commands(such as top, netstat, etc.), and collect logs, then bundle them into one or more archives.
The diagnostic output will be reviewed by Knowledge Focus along with the outcomes of the review session.
A report will be created by Knowledge Focus which will detail the findings from the audit along with recommendations.
Knowledge Focus (Pty) Ltd is an official Elastic partner in South Africa. Should you like to set up a search implementation and architecture audit, please fill in the form on the sidebar to the right (below, if you’re on your phone) and we’ll get in touch with you.
